Sodium Hydrosulfide (NaHS) is a strong and basic chemical compound that is available as a solid or aqueous solution and serves as a source of HS⁻ ions and sulfide. This substance is used in the mining industry for mineral separation and depressing interfering minerals, in the production of metal sulfides and sulfur-containing chemicals, and in certain water and oil treatment processes. NaHS is corrosive and highly reactive, and it releases toxic H₂S gas upon contact with acids; therefore, the use of protective equipment and adherence to safety precautions is essential.
